Birkbees organised a visit to the Sikh Temple for our preschool children to celebrate the festival of Light Diwali.
This visit was to teach the children about other cultures, how they are different from other’s and what they believe in but also the celebrations they have within them.
The children and the staff were made to feel very welcome by all the volunteers at the Temple and whilst we were there we listened to prayers from the Guru Granth Sahib ( Sikh Holly Book). We also got to taste a variety of traditional food made by this culture.
Birkbees Nurseries respect and appreciate the diversity of the community we live in.
We show this by celebrating all the cultures around us and teach these to the children in our topic
Celebrate the World Around Us.
