Children from our three pre school rooms visited the local Sikh temple to learn about Diwali and how this is celebrated. They were shown around the temple and listened carefully to a story about Diwali as well as enjoying some traditional Diwali treats. Engaging with the local community and learning about different cultures and beliefs enriches children’s learning and helps them feel part of the community they live in. A big thank you to everyone at the temple for their hospitality.
