The children have been gaining a deeper understanding of the society they live in and the people who help us
through role play. They were very eager to explore the resources and props with the doctors set and used these to share their ideas and experiences. The children were provided with dolls which they used to pretend to administer injections and wore stethoscopes to check each other’s breathing. One child used on inhaler spacer on the doll, showing his peers and staff how he uses the inhaler. The staff supported the children’s development by introducing new words to build their vocabulary and encouraged them to use language effectively when communicating. Role playing encourages the children to build strong, warm relationships and show respect and kindness to each other as they are encouraged to share and take turns.
