‘5 a Day’ Activity – Exploring Healthy Eating Together! 🥦🍎🥕

As part of our ongoing focus on healthy lifestyles, the children took part in a fun and educational ‘5 a Day’ activity, helping them learn the importance of eating a variety of fruits and vegetables every day.

We began by talking about the different types of foods that help keep our bodies strong and healthy. The children showed great curiosity and communication skills as they discussed which fruits and vegetables they enjoy, and explored new ones too!

Using their hand-eye coordination, the children carefully handled and examined a colourful range of produce — looking closely at the textures, shapes, and different parts of each fruit and vegetable. This hands-on experience sparked thoughtful conversations around taste, nutrition, and healthy choices.

The activity also offered a wonderful opportunity to discuss sustainability. We talked about how we can avoid wasting food and make use of leftovers — like turning fruit and veg scraps into compost to help things grow again! 🌱

Not only did this session promote healthy eating, but it also supported key life skills such as independence, responsibility, and sustainable living.
