We’re excited to be introducing Makaton in our Baby Room to help our youngest children communicate before they can talk! Makaton uses simple signs and speech together, supporting early language, understanding, and confidence. Our team has started using signs during songs, play, and everyday routines — helping babies express their needs and feelings in a fun, inclusive way.
Each week, we’ll be learning a “Makaton Song of the Week”, starting with favourites like “The Wheels on the Bus” and “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star.” Our staff are also taking part in Makaton training courses to build their skills and confidence.
Parents can join in too! Keep an eye on our social media for the weekly signs and try practising them at home — you’ll be amazed at how quickly your little one picks them up. We can’t wait to see everyone signing, singing, and learning together!
