Library Visit – A Wonderful World of Books!

This week, the children enjoyed an exciting trip to the local library where they had the opportunity to explore the magical world of books.

During the visit, the children were encouraged to choose their own books and spend time looking through the pages, sparking curiosity, imagination, and a love for reading. They also took part in some lovely mark-making activities, inspired by the stories and pictures they discovered.

One of the highlights of the visit was using the self-checkout machine to “pay” for the books. The children loved scanning their chosen titles and collecting a receipt, which was a great way to introduce early maths and real-life experiences in a fun and engaging way.

The librarian was so impressed with how well the children remembered to use their quiet voices, and as a special reward, each child received a sticker for their fantastic behaviour! 🌟

This visit not only promoted literacy and communication skills, but also supported independence, social interaction, and a deeper understanding of community spaces.
