Fixbees Newsletter – December 2025

Fixbees Newsletter

Dear Parents and Carers,

As we reach the end of the year, we would like to take a moment to thank all our children and families for being part of the Fixbees community. It has been a year filled with smiles, learning, and so much growth. We are incredibly proud of how far the children have come and truly grateful for all the support you have shown along the way.

We would also like to thank our parents and carers for supporting learning at home and taking part in home learning activities. Your involvement plays a vital role in supporting children’s development and confidence.

This year, our family learning events have been a great success. It has been wonderful to see so many families joining in, learning together, and strengthening partnerships between home and nursery. We are keen to continue offering these events in the new year and would love your input. Please let us know which dates and times work best for you so we can ensure as many families as possible are able to attend.

Staff Updates
We are pleased to welcome some new members to the Fixbees team:

  • Rachel joined us in November and has settled in very well. She is Level 3 qualified and works in the Pre-School room.
  • Hadeesa has recently joined Fixbees as a childcare apprentice and is based in the Baby Room.
  • Raisa will be joining us in the new year. She is transferring from our sister nursery, First Class, and will be working two days a week in the Tweenie Room.

Thank you once again for your continued support throughout the year. We look forward to another happy, successful year ahead, working in partnership with you and your children.

📲 Famly App – Update

Since introducing Famly, we’ve been so pleased to see how confidently everyone is using it. Families are now even more connected with nursery life, and it’s been lovely to see parents engaging with updates and sharing messages with the team.

We use Famly newsfeed to share news, event posters, and reminders, so keep an eye on the newsfeed for the latest updates. We also post pictures of the children and their daily activities, as well as events happening in nursery, on our Instagram and Facebook pages — so take a look there too!

If you haven’t already, please make sure your permissions on Famly are up to date to let us know whether your child can appear on social media.

Just a reminder: please update your contacts on Famly if you haven’t already done so. We require three emergency contacts in addition to the parents.

Also, when January invoices are sent out, please check the box at the top of the invoice rather than looking at the monthly breakdowns.

We’ll continue using Famly to keep communication clear and helpful, making sure you always feel informed and involved in your child’s day.

Medication

As we continue to ensure children’s safety and wellbeing, we kindly ask parents to let us know at drop-off if their child has had any medication that morning—especially paracetamol or ibuprofen—and the exact time it was given. This helps us avoid accidental double-dosing and ensures we can monitor your child appropriately throughout the day.

Please also make sure that any medication given at home, or brought into nursery, is recorded on the correct Famly form so our team has accurate and up-to-date information. Your support with this helps us respond safely and quickly should your child become unwell while in our care.

  • Our babies have settled in wonderfully, building strong bonds with staff and becoming confident in their environment.
  • We are very proud of the strong parent partnerships in the Baby Room and the success of our family learning events, which have been well attended and enjoyed by families.

  • Our recent family learning event was a great success, with many parents attending. We received positive feedback and families enjoyed taking part in the activities alongside their children.
  • Makaton has been embedded into daily practice, and all children have engaged exceptionally well. They are confidently using signs independently and without reminders.
  • Our Books of the Week and Words of the Week are regularly refreshed, encouraging children to develop a love of reading and expand their vocabulary through shared reading and discussions.
  • Children have enjoyed lots of cooking and baking activities, preparing food together to support independence, confidence, and important life skills.

Physical Development & Enrichment

  • Weekly sessions with Coach Cam and Coach Hannah have been a highlight, with rugby and dance activities supporting physical development while ensuring children have lots of fun and enjoyment.
