First Class Nursery Newsletter
Nursery Rhymes Newsletter
Dear Parents and Carers,
We hope you all had a lovely half-term break and are ready for another exciting few weeks of learning, fun, and celebration! The children have settled beautifully into their routines, and it’s been wonderful to see their confidence and independence growing every day.
📲 Famly App – Update
We are pleased to share that our transition from ParentZone to Famly has been a great success!
Thank you to all parents for engaging so positively with the new system.
You can now view:
- Daily updates, meals, and sleep routines
- Accidents, medication, and care forms
- Sign your child in and out
- Contact your child’s room, where senior staff or management will relay and respond to your message
Famly has made communication smoother, and we’re delighted to see parents checking in regularly to see what their children have been learning and enjoying each day.
New Policy: Emergency Paracetamol
From Monday 3rd November, the nursery will hold its own supply of liquid paracetamol for emergency use only.
This will be treated in the same way as prescription medication, with the nursery providing one specific type of medication that may be administered in certain circumstances – for example, if a child develops a high temperature or becomes unwell while in our care.
We will always attempt to contact parents first. If we are unable to reach you and your child’s condition meets the criteria set out in the consent form, medication may be administered as agreed.
Consent forms will be sent out via Famly, and we ask all parents to complete these promptly to ensure we can respond quickly in case of illness.
The consent form will clearly state:
- The dose to be given
- The circumstances in which it may be given (e.g. temperature increase)
- The specific brand name or type of non-prescription medication used
- A signed statement giving permission for administration in an emergency
An emergency nursery supply of fever relief (e.g. Asda Paracetamol) will be stored safely on site and checked regularly by trained first aiders to ensure it is in date and stored correctly.
If a child shows symptoms for which consent has been given, parents will be contacted to provide verbal consent over the phone, and the form will also be completed on the Famly app for our records.

🌍 Out and About in Our Community
At First Class, we believe that learning extends far beyond the nursery walls. This term, we’ve been getting out and about in our local community more often.
Children have had opportunities to:
• Go on local walks to explore nearby parks, shops, and places of interest
• Take part in community-based learning, such as posting letters, visiting the library, or observing local transport
• Engage in seasonal outings to learn about the world around them and build confidence in new environments
We’ve also started linking with local businesses and community groups to help children understand the importance of belonging, kindness, and connection.
Further details and permission forms will continue to be shared on Famly ahead of each outing.
