First Class Nursery – Summer Term Two
As we approach the end of the academic year, we want to say a heartfelt thank you for your continued support, smiles, and encouragement. It’s been a joyful term full of learning, discovery, and celebration!
A special goodbye goes to our wonderful pre-school children, who are now ready to take the next big step on their journey – starting school! We are so proud of everything they’ve achieved during their time with us and will miss their energy, laughter, and unique personalities.
Our graduation ceremony was a beautiful event filled with happy memories, songs, and proud moments. Thank you to all the families who joined us to make it so special. We wish all our school leavers the very best of luck in their new adventure – you’ll always be a part of our First Class family! 💛🎓
We’re also thrilled to share that our Sports Day at Greenhead Park was a huge success! So many parents came along across the different days, and it was fantastic to see everyone getting involved – even in the races! The children (and grown-ups!) had a brilliant time, and we made lots of lovely memories together. Thank you for making the effort to join us. Photos and videos from the event are now available on our Facebook and Instagram pages – be sure to check them out!
As a reminder, funded sessions will finish for the summer on Friday 18th July and will resume on Monday 8th September.
Leavers’ Tea Party – Join Us to Celebrate! 🎉
We’re excited to host our Pre-school Leavers’ Tea Parties to celebrate the amazing journey our school leavers have had with us!
To ensure everyone has a comfortable and enjoyable experience, we’ve split the downstairs pre-school group into two separate sessions due to limited space.
- Thursday 17th July:
• 11:00am – 12:00pm (Bluebell Room, upstairs)
• 3:00 – 4:00pm (Pre-school Room, downstairs – Group 1) - Friday 18th July:
• 3:00 – 4:00pm (Pre-school Room, downstairs – Group 2)
We can’t wait to celebrate with you and give our wonderful leavers the special send-off they deserve! 🥳💛
Lastly, for families of children who are leaving: there has been a delay in the professional printing of graduation photos due to our busy schedule of events. Once they are ready, we will contact you via WhatsApp to let you know they’re available, along with the cost.
Thank you again for a fantastic year – we wish you all a safe, happy summer and look forward to welcoming everyone back for another exciting season of learning and adventure!
☀️ Family Learning Event – Beach Day! 🏖️

We can’t wait to see you there for a day of sunshine, smiles, and shared learning! 🌊🌞
Baby Room
Theme: Exploring Through Movement!
Over the last few weeks, our Baby Room has been full of excitement as we’ve welcomed lots of new babies into our nursery family. It’s been a lovely time getting to know each child, and we’re focusing on helping everyone settle in happily and confidently.
As our babies are all at different stages of their physical development, we will be placing a strong focus on supporting and encouraging their movement skills. Whether they are learning to roll, sit, crawl, pull themselves up, take their first steps, or even run and climb – we’re here to guide and celebrate each milestone!
We’ve planned a variety of fun and stimulating activities to promote physical development, including:
- Soft play and obstacle courses
- Tummy time to build strength
- Push-along toys for early walkers
- Tunnel and material play
- Treasure baskets to encourage curiosity and movement
- Visits to the Bumblebees Room to practice climbing stairs and sliding
These experiences help develop coordination, confidence and independence in a safe and nurturing environment.
🏡 Home Learning – Baby Room – Supporting steps at home
This month, we’d love for you to support your child’s physical development at home by taking them to the park. Encourage them to climb, walk up and down steps, or explore the climbing frames (with your support). Even small movements help build big skills!
We look forward to sharing more progress and proud moments with you soon.

Bumblebee Room
Theme: Transitions, Self-Help & Holiday Fun!
This summer, we’ll be focusing on exciting activities that support transitions, build self-help skills, and explore the theme of holidays. As some of our children prepare to move on to new rooms or routines, we’ll be encouraging independence, confidence, and social interactions through lots of hands-on learning and imaginative play.
To support our holiday theme, we kindly ask parents to bring in a photo from a recent holiday or day out. These will be used for discussion, display, and helping children talk about their experiences. Photos can also be emailed to us if that’s easier – we’re happy to print them out for your child to share.
We’ve got some fantastic activities planned this term, including:
🍦 Ice Cream Parlour Role Play – encouraging imaginative play and early maths through scooping and serving.
❄️ Frozen Ice Cube Exploration – developing sensory awareness and curiosity with chilly textures.
🛁 Washing the Babies – learning to care for others through nurturing role play.
🌈 Rainbow Experiment – a colourful science activity sparking wonder and investigation.
✈️ Travel Agents Role Play – let’s pack our bags and plan an adventure!
We’re excited for a summer filled with sunshine, smiles, and learning!
🏡 Home Learning – Bumblebees – Show and tell with words
Please remember to support your child with Show & Tell! Each week, we focus on five words, and children are encouraged to bring in an item that links to one of the words. These are displayed in the parent section on the window outside the room, so keep an eye out each week!
This activity builds confidence, encourages speaking in front of a group, and makes learning fun and personal.

Butterfly Room (Pre-school)
Theme: “Summer Explorers: Learning Through Adventure!”
Our pre-schoolers will be making the most of the warm weather with a variety of exciting activities designed to inspire imagination, build independence, and connect with nature. Here’s what we have planned: 🌸 Walk to the Market
We’ll explore our local area and buy flowers – great for learning about the world around us, using money, making choices, and talking about what we see.
🌿 Forest Walk & Nature Hunt
A lovely way to explore nature, build language by naming what we find, and develop physical skills through walking and climbing.
🥤 Coke & Mentos Experiment
A fun science activity that sparks curiosity, encourages asking questions, and helps us learn about cause and effect.
🧺 Picnic in the Garden
Perfect for practising social skills like turn-taking, sharing food, and chatting with friends.
🧗 Obstacle Course
Great for building physical development – balancing, jumping, climbing – and boosting confidence too!
🌱 Gardening
Children will learn how plants grow and develop responsibility as they care for flowers and vegetables.
🧹 Litter Picking at the park
Teaches care for our environment, teamwork, and the importance of looking after our world.
🦸♀️ Superhero Masks
Supports creativity and self-expression, and encourages imaginative play and storytelling.
🧸 Teddy Bear Adventure with Hot Chocolate & Books
A cosy and calm session to build listening skills, imagination, and a love for reading.
📚 Story Time & Books
Helps develop early literacy, listening, new vocabulary, and the joy of reading together.
Please remember to send your child in with a sunhat and water bottle so they can enjoy outdoor play safely.
🏡 Home Learning – Butterfly Room (Pre-school room) – Story Time with Teddy! 🧸📚
You can keep your child learning at home with a simple and special routine—bedtime stories!
Snuggle up with your child, their favourite teddy, and a good book. Reading together helps your child learn new words, understand feelings, and use their imagination.
Try this:
As you read, talk about the story. Ask:
- “What do you think will happen next?”
- “How is the character feeling?”
- “What would you do?”
These little questions help your child think, talk, and enjoy the story even more.
Happy reading! 🌙✨
