This term we have had lots of family learning events going on around nursery.
In the baby room, parents and carers were invited to come into nursery to take part in ice play with herbs and small world play with their child.
In bumblebees parents and carers joined their children to take part in a teddy bears picnic. Everyone really enjoyed the event, all of the children and their parents had a packed lunch to enjoy at the picnic. They also took part in singing as a group and parents looked at children’s learning journeys.
In pre-school, children and their parents/carers made a beach jar using oil, food colouring, water, sand, shaving foam and shells. There was lots of discussions and predictions about how the jars would work and what would happen.
There was also a cola and mentos experiment which everyone enjoyed. Children and their parents had a range of resources to choose from to see what would work best in the experiment.
