Welcome to First Class Nursery

First Class nursery was acquired by the Birkbees Group in 2012 and has undergone significant changes. New and exciting learning areas have been created and the nursery is thriving.

Exceptional care is at the heart of everything we do. We prioritize each child's well-being through personalized key worker systems, engaging activities, and a nurturing environment, all aimed at helping every child thrive and reach their full potential.

Our approach is child-centred, with each child’s needs and interests driving our planning and routines. We tailor our care to ensure every child’s unique requirements are met and supported.

We are also deeply committed to accommodating the needs of parents, carers, and children. With a flexible and adaptable approach, we work in close partnership with families to ensure the best possible care and a smooth transition from nursery to school.

Our Team

Our highly trained, experienced staff create a welcoming and stimulating environment that encourages children to flourish. Many of our practitioners have been with us for over 20 years, reflecting the stability and dedication within our team.

Our Curriculum

We offer a wide range of exciting and educational activities that align with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum. Each activity is carefully designed to encourage curiosity, creativity, and the development of key skills, all while supporting children to reach their full potential. We take pride in promoting a positive self-image within each child, helping them grow in confidence and self-esteem.

Outdoor Play & Exploration

Our outdoor place space is a special place for children to explore and get creative. Here, they have the chance to engage in hands-on experiences, such as woodwork and loose parts play, while also learning about nature by caring for the fruit and vegetables that are grown each year. This fosters a sense of responsibility and connection to the environment.

Our Community Engagement

Our nursery is an integral part of the local community. We host several family support events throughout the year, including themed Family Learning Days, Summer Fair, Easter Extravaganza, and a Christmas Fayre, offering fun opportunities for families to come together and celebrate.

First Class Nursery’s prime location offers easy access to Huddersfield town centre, public transport links, and local educational institutes such as Kirklees College, Greenhead College, and Huddersfield University – all within walking distance. This makes it simple for families to drop off and pick up their children, while being close to key community hubs.
