Bumblebees Oral Health Stay & Play

Promoting Oral Health Through Fun Learning

The Bumblebees staff planned an exciting Oral Health themed Stay & Play session, inviting parents and carers to join in and support their children’s learning. Each child received their own toothbrush and toothpaste, making the experience more personal and engaging.

To make learning about oral health fun and interactive, we incorporated various hands-on activities, including:

Brushing Dolls’ and Model Teeth – The children enjoyed pretending to be dentists as they carefully brushed the teeth of dolls and false teeth models. This helped them understand how to clean their own teeth properly.

Story Time – Topsy and Tim Go to the Dentist – We read a fun and relatable story about a visit to the dentist, helping children feel comfortable with the idea of dental check-ups and reinforcing the importance of looking after their teeth.

Mirror Brushing Challenge – With their own toothbrushes and toothpaste, the children practiced brushing their teeth while looking in mirrors, copying correct brushing techniques in a playful way. They loved seeing their reflections and showing off their big, bright smiles!

Self-Care with Dolls – We encouraged children to wash dolls as part of learning about self-care, linking it to keeping their own bodies clean and healthy.

Exploring Healthy Eating – Through discussions and hands-on activities, we looked at different foods and talked about which ones are good for our teeth and which ones we should enjoy in moderation.

The session was filled with laughter, curiosity, and hands-on learning, helping children develop a positive attitude toward oral hygiene.

Parents and carers also enjoyed taking part and learning simple ways to encourage healthy habits at home.
