Following the child led planning we do and taking into account the environment we learn, explore and develop in, we as practitioners want to motivate and inspire them to learn develop and become secure in their development through their interests.
Following a morning session outside where we explored and collected the leaves, we talked about colour, shape and size.
We then took them inside with us and got creative with the leaves using paint and paper.
The teaching focus for this activity was to encourage children to communicate about the differences they see. The area of the Early Years Foundation Stage that were met were, from Expressive arts and design 16-26 months:- Notices and is interested in the effects of making movements which leave marks.
