Preschool children have been looking at various different celebrations this month and focusing on Christmas time, we did a range of activities from making baubles, to putting up the Christmas tree and decorating it.
We enjoyed Christmas dinner within our rooms too, and talked about Christmas time and also did baking around this such as making mince pies which was lots of fun.
We also had the elves in our room but with a twist, the elves introduced kind manners and how to be nice to your friends for the whole of the month, the children enjoyed finding special notes from the elves and following the instructions given for that day.
Although our focus was celebrations we also looked at activities around the changes in the weather and did light and dark, children were able to recognise the shorter days and do activities around this.
We did pictures about light and dark too.
