For Chinese New Year we took a trip down to ‘Dong Dong’s’ a Chinese shop in town. We looked around the shop and bought some fortune cookies, prawn crackers and some chop sticks. We talk about different Chinese foods.
We had activities set out for Chinese New Year such as colouring in sheets of things to do with Chinese New Year. We made some masks. We had a fascination tables set out for the children to explore. Children made Chinese lanterns and explored cooked noodles with chopsticks. Children made red and gold money bags for Chinese New Year. We had a Chinese restaurant in the home corner and had lots of yummy dishes on our menu. We also celebrated Chinese New Year by having a Chinese themed lunch and tea at nursery.
