Today was our graduation, it was a day of laughter and tears as we say celebrate with the preschool children and the parents /carers this milestone in their lives.
All the children were very excited and looking forward to seeing their mummies and family come to nursery asking us are we doing it now, every few minutes.
For the staff it was a mixed day as it is realisation that all these children that we have built up relationships and bonded with were going to school, so that was sad but also we were happy that the children are already to take the next step in their lives.
The children all came upstairs and sat on the carpet waiting their turn to put on the graduation gowns and hats getting ready. We started our graduation with Nicola thanking everyone for coming and letting us be part of their child’s life. The children then came and sat on the chairs waiting and watching their friends come and sat on the stage. As the child stood on the stage their key person said a few words about them recalling some funny moments we have had and presenting them with their certificate, scroll and a present which was a book so that they could remember their time at Nursery Rhymes. After all the children had been presented with their things they all came and stood at the front and they sang some songs which we had been practicing using their best singing voices.
We ended the graduation with a little speech which saw a few tears and then we had some light refreshments and the staff received some wonderful gifts which were truly wonderful and gratefully received
