Starting a primary school or moving up to the next class is a big step for young children, parents and carers. When they start school, they come across new things e.g. new routines, assembly time, new playground etc …
So, to help with this transition, we set up a role play area of a school so the children can ‘pretend’ and get the feel of a reception classroom. We practice our names, we do the register and dress up in school uniform this helps to make it much more real that they will be moving on to school. How exciting is the next chapter is going to be.
