Caterpillar Blog – May 2019

At First Class we have been learning about the life cycle of caterpillars to butterfly. Some caterpillars were brought to nursery ad put into individual containers with food until they turned into chrysalis. They were then transferred into a bigger net. After a couple of weeks, the chrysalis turned into butterflies. The children helped to release the butterflies into the nursery garden. The older pre-school children talked about the life cycle of a caterpillar into a butterfly and the Bumblebee room children made stain glass window butterflies and had the hungry caterpillar on the tuff spot using the real fruit and toy insects.
