Life Cycles May 2019

Preschool children have shown an interest in what is happening in the environment as we had started to talk about spring and how things are starting to change. This links into Understanding the World in the EYFS. A member of staff found a frog that they brought to nursery for the children to look at. This started their interest in the life cycle of the frog. The staff followed the children’s interest and found some resources to explain the frog cycle. The children were able to use these resources to explain what they had learnt about the frog life cycle. On another day a member of staff was able to bring is some real frogspawn for children to observe continuing their interest in the life cycle. We are now watching this every day looking at the change and waiting for it to change into tadpoles.
