Thank you to all the parents who have taken part in our latest home learning.

As the weather is now changing and is getting wet and cold, please can parents make sure that their child is dressed appropriately as playing outside is fun, exciting and important for children’s learning and development. Please can we also ask parents to bring spare clothes for your child as sometime we may need to change your child’s clothes.

Can we also ask parents to discourage their child from bringing toys to nursery as we cannot be held responsible for them and we would not like for them to get lost or broken.

What is happening in nursery?

Some parents may have seen we have two new members of staff join the nursery team.

Geanina who is now based in the baby room, she will be working full time all year round. Ewa who is the latest member of the team will be working in the out of school club. We would like to congratulate Becca on the birth of her son and Nat on the birth of her daughter, are doing well.

Ready Steady Read.
Early Literacy is vital to all the children and so in the New Year we will be setting up a lending library and our home learning activity will be focused on reading with the children from an early age looking at books, different prints and texts.

Babies

The babies have had a fab term. The new term the babies will be working on new skills including expressive art and design and communication, they will be doing lots of messy play and exploring materials and textures.

Tweenies

This term tweenies are looking at settling in the new children. The learning will be focused on numbers, language and listening to simple instructions. Please can we also ask that you provide enough nappies for your child for the session.

Pre school
The children in pre-school will be given the opportunity to take home a learning bag. This is for you to share with your child and spend time together playing and learning. We will be working on children’s self-care skills; becoming more independent, putting on their coats and shoes and begin to dress themselves. We will also like you to encouraging your child with their self-care skills at home. We will also be offering lots of learning opportunities following your child’s next steps and interests.

For those children attending the 15 funding hours there is a sundries charge to cover snacks and meals. This is £3.00 for a morning session and £2.00 for an afternoon session. If you would like to bring in a packed lunch/tea and snacks for your child please speak to a member of staff in your child’s room. Please can you ensure that packed lunches contain healthy food as we have food for life award and need to follow the guidelines they set? We also have to think about other child as we have children who have food allergies. Chocolate, crisp and sweets are not allowed. Also products which contain nuts or peanut butter are not allowed in packed lunches. Thank you.
