Welcome back to all our children and families and a big Birkbees welcome to all our new children and families. I hope you had a lovely summer holiday. We are ready for the new term with lots of learning and fun activities planned for your children. Keep a lookout on Parentzone at what your child has been learning in the nursery and also check out our Facebook pages and posts to see what’s going on in and
around Birkbees.

Staff changes at Birkbees

As usual, we have looked at staffing for our Autumn term and there are a few changes taking place. Laura is moving from Bumblebees to take
the senior post in 2bees, she has lots of exciting things plans for our two-year-old learners! Joining her in 2bees are Manjit and Aram who are both looking forward to a new challenge as they have previously worked in preschool rooms. Rabia and Tamsin are changing places with Rabia moving to Bumblebees and Tamsin to Queenbees. Finally, Wafaa is re
locating to Busybees whilst Amy is to join preschool stingers.

Learning at home

In nursery, the children are presented with a broad curriculum based on the
EYFS to stimulate and encourage development in all areas. Staff plan a range of activities based around a theme or topic. Each term they will give out Learning At Home sheets for you to see what your child will be learning in the nursery and some activity ideas for you to carry on this learning at home. Please try and find the time to help your child with the activities

Outdoor Learning

Children learn through play both indoors and outdoors. We plan for this and encourage all children to spend time outside during the nursery day. Please ensure your child has the correct clothing for the time of year and the weather!
