Fixbees Visit Elim Pentecostal Church

On a frosty Thursday morning Fixbees Preschool wrapped up warmly and boarded the Company mini-buses for a trip to Elim Pentecostal Church.

We were greeted at the door by Natasha and Nicola who helped the staff get the children into the reception area, taking off coats, hats and gloves and then writing name tags for all the children. We were invited to join in the Tiddlers group which runs every Thursday for mothers and toddlers which provided a wonderful array of toys and crafts lovingly set up for the children to play with. With a few ground rules set in place the children quickly absorbed themselves in play.

Before we knew it, it was story time with Natasha who told the children a wonderful story about the man who was very greedy and wouldn’t share his money, well the children all joined in shouting out when Natasha raised her hand to say “He loved his money.”

After story time Nicola and Natasha encouraged the children to participate in an activity, decorating money boxes, some of the children joined in but not all as they were more interested in dressing up in the many different outfits available.

Time went very quickly and before we knew it, it was snack time again! What a delight. They offered the children an array of different fruits and freshly toasted crumpets, yummy! The children’s manners were impeccable and they sat beautifully remembering to say please and thank you without prompting!

After snack time the children were given a guided tour of the church where they were introduced to Sharon, who was responsible for ‘counting the pennies’ and looking after the church’s finances, Michael who was responsible for organising the meetings and Tim and Mark, who were the church’s pastors.

Thank you once again Natasha and Nicola for making Fixbees Day Care feel so welcome!
